Bowling with a meal in Highland Park
Highland Park Bowl gives the crew restored lanes and a food menu. Everyone can play before the 8 PM adults-only cutoff. Reserve the lane that works for the group so dinner and bowling have room in the same visit.
Puppets and the next available show
Bob Baker Marionette Theater gives Highland Park an afternoon of marionettes. The current Halloween season is marked sold out. Choose a later available performance before promising the kids a show. Lodge Room also has specific daytime family concerts, with the October 25 tribute show marked sold out.
A Sunday when everyone chooses lunch
Smorgasburg Los Angeles is a Sunday outdoor food market at ROW DTLA. Different vendors let different appetites have their own lunch. Its beer garden is family-friendly; the market’s own rule says no pets. Read the current vendor list when one dish is the reason to go.
Pasadena play or Santa Monica rides
Kidspace Children’s Museum has water play and outdoor exploring in Pasadena. Bring a change of shoes; it is closed October 24 and November 2 through 5, 2026. Pacific Park puts rides and games on the pier. It closes at 4 PM October 20, opens at 3 PM October 25 and closes at 7 PM October 29. These are separate city outings.
